Our Apprentice Artist Chamber Music Program (CHAMPS!) has nearly doubled in the past academic year. This extracurricular program organizes teen and pre-teen string musicians into ensembles, and then pairs each group with a professional musician coach. Each ensemble works as a team, developing the skills necessary for rehearsal and public performance.

More than 60 young musicians participate in this extracurricular training program, which will culminate in a Young Artists Recital on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, at the corner of Old Pecos Trail and Cordova Road.

Los Alamos now has its own branch of CHAMPS! These young musicians will be presented in their own gala concert and reception on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 7:30pm in Fuller Lodge, 2132 Central Avenue in Los Alamos.
