Santa Fe Pro Musica needs your help!

Because we are deeply committed to sharing all our concerts and educational opportunities with everyone, we keep our ticket prices affordably low. As a result, our ticket revenue covers only 35% of the cost of providing such outstanding artistic programming to the community. We must therefore rely on the generous support of businesses and foundations—and people who care about the arts.

We couldn’t make beautiful music without support from arts patrons like you.

Please join the family of donors whose gifts enable Santa Fe Pro Musica to:

Present Classical and Baroque masterpieces in historic venues;
Bring internationally renowned solo artists to perform for New Mexico audiences;
Offer exceptional concerts at affordable ticket prices;
Invite hundreds of school children to our Youth Concerts, many of whom are experiencing classical music for the first time;
Train the next generation of chamber musicians through apprenticeships and master classes;
Provide public performance opportunities, scholarships (and encouragement!) to high school musicians bound for professional studies.

Annually-renewed gifts are the financial underpinning of Santa Fe Pro Musica. Your gift can be designated for educational program support or for general concert season operations. It can take the form of:

Your support will help us to continue to introduce new and changing audiences to live performances of great music.

The Bravo! Society

Bravo to those of you who want to see Santa Fe Pro Musica continue their 30 year legacy of the highest quality classical music performances and education for Northern New Mexico and its visitors.

The Bravo! Society honors and recognizes those individuals who have thoughtfully provided for Santa Fe Pro Musica through a planned gift. Membership is offered to anyone who has notified Pro Musica of the gift. Proceeds can benefit the ongoing operational expenses of Santa Fe Pro Musica, or be designated for the Santa Fe Pro Musica Endowment Foundation.

As a special Bravo! Donor, you will be recognized in Pro Musica’s program book each season. Thanks to you, we will be able to continue our work in the arts community with strong education programs, top-notch concerts, and a vibrant community of employed musicians.

Options for Providing a Legacy Gift

Bequest of cash or property at donor’s death

The donor retains control of the cash/property during his or her lifetime. The estate will receive a charitable tax deduction, and donors must specify the charitable bequest in their will or trust.

Name Santa Fe Pro Musica as a beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy, as a specified dollar amount or as a percentage of the death benefit.

The owner of the policy retains access and control over policy and cash value, as well as the ability to change the beneficiary. The estate will receive a charitable tax deduction, and only a simple form is needed to change the beneficiary to name the orchestra.

Issue a new life insurance policy to the orchestra, owned by the orchestra

Life insurance greatly amplifies the value of the gift when your contribution of a premium payment is used to buy a life insurance policy. While the orchestra has control of the policy, the donor receives an income tax deduction for the premium paid, and the policy is excluded from the donor’s taxable estate. To do this, a life insurance application must be completed from the company of the donor’s choice.

Gift the orchestra an existing life insurance policy

A donor may transfer ownership of a life insurance policy to the orchestra. Control over the policy is given to the orchestra, and the donor receives an income tax deduction, as well as a deduction for any additional gifts for premiums. The orchestra can also take responsibility for premium payments if needed. This only requires a change of ownership form requesting the transfer.

IRA charitable distribution

A distribution from an IRA allows donors age 70½ or over to exclude from gross income up to $100,000 that is paid directly from their individual retirement accounts (possibly excluding SEP or SIMPLE IRAs) to the orchestra. The excluded amount can be used to satisfy any required minimum distributions that the individual must otherwise receive from the IRAs. A form is all that is needed to direct money from an IRA to the orchestra. ",,id=96989,00.html"

IRA or Annuity beneficiary designation

Individual Retirement Account and Annuities require at least one beneficiary who will receive the assets upon death. Donors can also select the orchestra as the beneficiary (and may have to get the written permission of a spouse if married). This designation is accomplished by filling out the required paperwork to designate beneficiaries.

Other Options

There are many other ways to give to Santa Fe Pro Musica, varying from the simple to the complex. All donors’ situations are different, and the board of directors will work with you or your financial and legal advisers to make sure your desires are satisfied. Many options are simple, such as a percentage listed with other beneficiaries and won’t require an attorney.

Let the music play on! Thank you for your consideration of a legacy gift to insure Santa Fe Pro Musica’s continuation.

Concert Sponsorship is a mutually beneficial activity. You or your business gain name/logo visibility in all of our marketing materials, our Program Book and our website, where you receive recognition as a patron of a well-respected arts organization.

Sponsorship can be tied to a concert, the performance of a guest artist, to a series (for example, Chamber Orchestra Series), or can underwrite our educational outreach programs. Santa Fe Pro Musica will design a sponsorship package for you, offering the visibility and entertainment opportunities you seek.

For information on available sponsorships, or to request a sponsorship packet, please contact our Executive Director at 505.988.4640, ext. 1001, or by e-mail.

Help make the music happen! Volunteers support Santa Fe Pro Musica in a variety of capacities, such as concert assistance, in-office tasks, working on special events, and outreach for education projects. We couldn’t do it without your help!
